About Me: meet the student behind the screen…

Hi all!

Thank you for your attention over the past month or so. I hope, after perusing my first 5 blog posts, you have some sort of idea of what my blog will be all about. From now, each Thursday, my plan is to continue posting reviews on the current 5 themes already going, namely food, beauty, fashion, travel, and book reviews; I have so many more ideas in store for you in this regard!

However, I may branch out and do some other styles of post – perhaps something more creative, or maybe just general posts about my experiences as a student, and later, as an ex-student going into the post-graduate world… who knows! For now, though, it could go anywhere, but thank you for your support so far, and I hope to continue to interest you as the months go by.

Notebook With Ideas in
My little book of ideas, awaiting your screens…

Although I would like to keep up the array of topics I discuss in my blog, it seems my most popular post so far was the Revolution Brow Tint post. In a way, I expected this, considering the popularity of make-up and beauty these days, and I was glad as this is one of my main passions, so it seems that you are enjoying my thoughts as much as I am enjoying writing them down!

Because of this, I may focus more on this theme than others; I actually have a series lined up for you on Revolution, as I have recently purchased, or have been gifted, numerous Revolution products, so stay tuned for that if you are interested. Otherwise, I have a bunch of other ideas lined up in regards to the other themes, so if these are more your style, you will not be excluded!

After giving you a taster of what’s to come, I thought I would write a little something about myself so you can get to know the writer behind the screen. At the moment, I am enjoying my summer holidays, awaiting my third year of studying Ancient and Medieval History at Cardiff University. I am loving my course, and I just can’t wait to start back in September!

My other interests include dancing, which I have done since the age of 2, and have continued into university, and cheerleading, which I have been lucky enough to pursue at university also. Below is a picture of me and my team performing at the Welsh Varsity this year:

I have always been a keen writer but, as I got older and became consumed by GCSEs, A Levels, and now uni work, I haven’t really had the time or inspiration to maintain this passion.

However, as luck would have it, one of my modules this year consisted of writing a blog post on ancient medicine; I chose to test out ancient cures for asthma (something I suffer with), and it turned out that I had a knack for it, reigniting my former passion for creative writing (I would post a link for this blog post here, but the actual page has been made private for academic purposes. I have recently received word that my post may be used as part of an undergraduate series for The Recipes Project, so it may show up there in some months time! Exciting stuff!).

Then, after reading Rebecca, I was captivated to share my thoughts, which spurred my inspiration to start writing again!

So, now you know a little more about me, I am not so much a stranger behind a computer screen, and more so a friend, who I hope you will join in this blogging journey.
